In African culture, women are a neglected segment of society. Treated as property and used as a work horse, women 
are usually illiterate and underpaid. Gather The Fragments Bible Mission is actively involved in reaching this more silent portion of the population through the means of regular Bible study, personal mentoring, and evangelism training. Our ladies are wonderful! Though illiterate they have a desire to fulfill the great commission by taking the Gospel message to their African sisters with the prayer that they will become sisters in Christ. Pictured at right is Elizabeth, my most eager and zealous Bible student.
During our Bible training seminars we hire ladies from the Bible study group to cook, clean, and do laundry for our visiting students. While asking some questions regarding how to pay our ladies we got the response of, “If you were hiring men to work for the day you would pay them so much but these are just women.” Based on that we decided to 
pay them what a man would be paid, and rightly so for the work they do is hard and is usually unappreciated. Because we pay them well, they work well and are trust worthy
Assisting with Little Fragments Bible Class is another method of training our ladies. Though they cannot read they have amazing memories. By helping with classes and hearing the lessons, they are able to take the lessons to others which they do on a regular basis. We also have some women who are eager to assist with evangelism.
The best way to reach women is through other women who can bridge the language and cultural gaps. These ladies will be trained in the use of our illustrated wordless books enabling them to take the Gospel to their African sisters with the prayer that they will become sisters in Christ.
