To western societies, radio may seem like an outdated mode of communication but in developing countries such as Sierra Leone, radio remains a vital link to the outside world. The newest project on Mission Mountain is the establishment of a Christian radio broadcast. Working with Independent Baptist Media, veteran radio planting missionaries, we will soon begin the process of government licensing. We ask your prayers for this phase of the project as it is the biggest hurdle we must clear before moving ahead. We anticipate that radio will be a major part of our outreach as the broadcasts go before and prepare the way in the many scattered towns and villages in our region. Through the preaching of the Word of God, reading of scripture, and edifying Christian music, hearts will be softened and prepared as we make our way into these remote areas.
Whether they are walking to market, resting in the shade during the heat of the day, or working in their fields, Africans listen to their radios! We are eager to offer them a Christian choice on their radio dial.
